All We Know About The New Apple ios 17 Updates

iOS 17 is the latest version of Apple’s operating system, set to once again once again flip-turn our iPhone interactions.

With a strong focus on security and privacy, iOS 17 introduces several new features and improvements. In this article, This piece will delve into some of the most surprising and exciting functions of iOS 17.

Before diving into the details, it’s essential to note that iOS 17 is currently in the beta stage and is only available to developers. To access this version, you must have a developer account. Additionally, not all devices that are compatible with iOS 16 will receive the update to iOS 17. Devices like the iPhone X and iPhone 8 have reached the end of their update cycles.

Changing the iPhone Passcode in iOS 17

One remarkable functionality discovered in iOS 17 is the ability to change the passcode if you forget it within a maximum period of 72 hours before the device gets locked. With iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, you can now reset the passcode of your iPhone or iPad within three days of modifying the security code.

If you enter an incorrect password on a device running iOS 17, you will see an option at the bottom of the screen that says, “Forgot Passcode?” Tapping on this option will give you the ability to reset the passcode. To activate this feature, follow these four simple steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and select Face ID/Touch ID & Passcode.
  3. Under “Temporary Passcode Reset,” tap on “Expire the Previous Passcode Now.”
  4. Confirm by tapping “Expire Now.”

While this feature is undoubtedly useful, it would have been even more convenient if Apple had allowed users to change their Apple ID password using the iPhone passcode. This would have further enhanced security without compromising the user experience.

Apple’s Long-Awaited Improvement

It’s worth noting that Apple has finally released a Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 17, which focuses on bug fixes and system optimization. However, this version does introduce a small but significant improvement, the addition of 20 new ringtones and alert sound options. Users can now customize their iPhone’s sounds for calls, text messages, emails, and calendar alerts. Some of the existing ringtones have also been remastered for better sound quality.

Interestingly, Apple has not introduced new ringtones since iOS 7 in 2013, and the few new ones added in 2017 were not available on all compatible devices. In contrast, the new OS brings this feature to a wider range of devices, including the iPhone XS.
